TWN held the first of our Networking evenings on Tuesday 29 June on the subject of debt with a seminar being provided by the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Belfast.  The speaker was Pat Colton who has worked for CAB for over thirty years.  The main body of Pat’s presentation focused on the options that were available to clients who had incurred debt.

These were:

  • A repayment plan
  • IVA
  • Bankruptcy
  • Token payments
  • Write off debts (exceptional cases)

Citizens Advice is the largest advice charity in Northern Ireland, working against poverty and meeting the information and advice needs of some 92,000 people per year and dealing with over 320,000 issues across a wide range of  advice categories.
